The spate of bombings rocking Nigeria spread to Kaduna last night with a massive blast at the city centre. The bomb, which appears to have been hidden in a refuse bin, targeted a popular drinking joint and an area described as a prostitute rendezvous by Boko Haram militants.The explosion went off around midnight in the Obalende area of the city, wounding six people. They were said to be receiving treatment in various hospitals in the metropolis.
The Kaduna explosion occurred only a few hours after another blast rocked a church in Suleija, on the outskirts of the federal capital, Abuja. Four people were killed in that attack.
The blast in Kaduna took place on Maiduguri Road in the city, the worst hit area was the Fakados street behind Dabo Motors which has a good number of beer parlours and popular hangouts for prostitutes. Some of the women are believed to be among the victims of the blast.
